Adamawa Revives Monthly Sanitation Exercises to Boost Cleanliness

The Adamawa State government has announced the reintroduction of monthly environmental sanitation exercises statewide, starting from June 2024.

The exercises, approved by Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, aim to promote a clean and healthy environment.

This was contained in a statement made available to the press by the Commissioner for Informatiin, Mr James Iliya.

According to the release, the sanitation exercises will take place at the end of every month, with a restriction of movement from 7:00am to 10:00am, except for essential service providers and emergency responders.

Members of the public are expected to come out en masse to clean their houses, surroundings, and drainages.

Markets, schools, shops, and business premises are to remain closed during the exercise, while owners are expected to clean their premises.

A mobile court has been established to prosecute defaulters and offenders.

The government urges citizens to support the initiative, which aims to foster a culture of cleanliness and complement investments in infrastructure development. By working together, citizens can help build a clean, healthy, and prosperous Adamawa State.
