The Adamawa State Government has inaugurated a panel to investigate the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) projects under the administration of Murtala Nyako.
The Deputy Governor Martin Babale said the panel was not constituted to target political opponents but to ensure transparency in the system.
Babale enumerated 12 terms of reference for the panel and set a four-week time frame for them to submit their report.
Babale spoke of the resolve of government to promote the interest of the electorate, urging the panel to be transparent in handling the assignment.
The terms of reference include investigating all activities of the MDGs since inception, establishing the total funds allocated to it, number of contracts awarded and firms involved as well as ascertain level of compliance with due process and Procurement Act in all capital projects.
