The Adamawa State Government has declared three days of mourning to honour the memory of two distinguished sons of the state, Ibrahim Lamorde and Musa Abdulmalik, who passed away recently.

This was contained in a statement issued by Humwashi Wonosikou, Chief Press Secretary to the governor of the state, Ahmadu Fintiri, on Monday.

According to the statement, the period of mourning, which takes effect from Monday, May 27, to Wednesday, May 29, 2024, is a mark of respect for the contributions and service of the two deceased individuals.

The Governor said, “The death of these illustrious sons of Adamawa is a moment of greatest sadness for me and all people of the state.”

He described Lamorde as a “cherished anti-corruption crusader” and a “much-loved police officer,” and Musa Abdulmalik as an “accomplished legislator.”

Fintiri extended his condolences to the families and loved ones of the deceased, acknowledging the profound impact of their loss on the state and beyond.
