Adamawa declares 3 days of mourning for late chief of staff

Adamawa State governor, Muhammadu Jibrilla, has declared three days of mourning for his deceased chief of staff, Abdurrahman Abba Jimeta.

Jimeta died in the early hours of Monday while on lesser pilgrimage in Saudi Arabia. He is survived by his father, one wife and eleven children.

A statement signed by the state Information Commissioner, Ahmad Sajoh said the deceased would be buried in the afternoon in Makkah.

"Consequently, His Excellency, the Executive Governor of Adamawa State Senator Muhammad Umar Jibrilla Bindow has declared three days of mourning in Adamawa State starting from Monday the 18th of June 2018.”

The statement described Jimeta as an epitome of hard work and selfless service to the nation in his over thirty years of public service.

The deceased had previously served as Chief of Staff to former governor, Murtala Nyako and Information Commissioner
