Adamawa Assembly Passes N225.9bn 2024 Budget

The Adamawa State House of Assembly has passed a budget of N225.893 billion for the state’s services in 2024, as presented by Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri. 

The budget was passed after the presentation and consideration of the report of the Committee on Finance, Budget, and Appropriation.

Speaking during the consideration of the report, the Majority Leader, Hon. Kate Raymond Mamuno (Demsa), commended the committee for its diligent work and called on the Assembly to ensure that all ministries, departments and agencies follow the recommendations outlined in the report while implementing their budgets.

Other members of the Assembly who commented on the report include Hon. Yohanna Sahabo Jauro, the member representing Mubi South Constituency, who praised the committee for completing the budget within the allotted time frame and urged revenue-generating agencies to increase their efforts to generate more revenue.

During the reading of the report of the Committee of Supply, the Speaker, Rt. Hon. Bathiya Wesley, disclosed that the recurrent expenditure was N111.379bn while the capital expenditure was N114.514bn, totaling N225.9bn for the state’s services in 2024.

He directed the clerk to the Assembly to prepare a clean copy of the bill for Governor Fintiri’s assent after the third reading.
