A witness said the accident occurred when an unmarkedJ5 Peugeot bus carrying furniture from Lokoja end, rammed into the parked DAF tanker.
He said the bus driver sustained injury, while two others sitting in front of the bus were trapped, adding that before the arrival of men of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) from Yangoji, the victims had died.
“The FRSC’s rescue officials have to use an extricating machine to remove the trapped bodies, while the driver, who sustained injury was taken to the hospital,’’ he said.
When contacted, Yangoji unit commander of the FRSC, Assistant Corps Commander Jeremiah M. Fada, confirmed the accident, saying the two corpses had been deposited at Kwali General Hospital morgue.
He said the bus driver that sustained injury was taken to Rhema Foundation Hospital at Kwali for attention.
