ActionAid trains 500 youths on peace building

ActionAid Nigeria has trained and graduated 500 young men and women from 12 communities in six local governments in Nasarawa State.

ActionAid Country Director, Mrs Ene Obi, emphasised that the one-week training was based on leadership, entrepreneurship and peaceful coexistence.

“The training seeks to reduce negative vulnerability by engaging the participants in constructive dialogue and peace building activities through mentorship and teachings on mediation,” she said.

Obi who thanked the Nasarawa State Government for the support to run the 2020 youth peace camp, added that it was done in partnership with  Global Peace Development, Beacon Youth Intuitive, SARVE II and Global Engagement and Resilience Fund.

Deputy Speaker of Nasarawa State House of Assembly, Nehemiah Tsentse Dandaura who represented Governor  Abdullahi Sule at the event expressed joy for the graduation of peace ambassadors at this moment.

He wished the peace ambassadors the best as they set to impact their communities and Nasarawa State in general.
