The ActionAid Nigeria (AAN) in partnership with Gwarinpa General Hospital has launched a comprehensive VesicoVaginal Fistula (VVF) Centre to cater for victims on FCT and environs.
The VVF is an abnormal opening between the bladder and the vagina that results in continuous and unremitting urinary incontinence.
Other goals of the 6-months project which was funded by ActionAid Italy, is to support the establishment of a functional fistula care centre in Gwarinpa General Hospital within the FCT and to create awareness to the end Child Marriage Project to reduce early marriage and increase access to treat victims and patients of the ailment.

The Director, Resource Mobilisation and Innovation, AAN, Nkechi Ilochi-Kanny, at the inception meeting weekend in Abuja, said that the launch of the project was apt as it falls within the celebration of the 16 Days of Activism against Gender Base Violence (GBV) and World Aids Day every December 1.
