The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Ogun State, has asked Governor Dapo Abiodun to account for COVID-19 intervention funds and donations from the federal government, corporate bodies and individuals.

The chairman of the party in the state, Sikirullahi Ogundele, who stated this in an interview with newsmen on Monday in Abeokuta, threatened legal action if the governor failed to account for the funds.

Among those who donated money to the state government during the COVID-19 lockdown, were business mogul and philanthropist, Sir Kensington Adebutu, who donated a sum of N100 million and the immediate past governor of the state, Senator Ibikunle Amosun who donated N25 million.

Efforts to reach government officials for their comments proved abortive as none of them was available for reaction.

When contacted for her comment, the Commissioner for Health, Dr. Tomi Coker referred our correspondent to her finance counterpart, Dapo Okubadejo.

Okubadejo, however, failed to pick calls as his phone rang out. He equally did not respond to text messages sent to his mobile number.
