Presidential candidate of Accord Party, Prof Chris Imumolen, has instituted a scholarship scheme for Nigerian university undergraduates to study abroad following the lingering strike by the Academic Staff Union of Universities ASUU.
Imumolen also had empowered a total of two million youths in the country for self employment in several fields of endeavors.
Speaking with reporters in Awka, Anambra state capital, chairman of the Accord Party, Chief Bartho Igwedibia said Imumolen, aged 39, is the youngest the Presidential candidate.
According to him, he would bring to bearer his wealth of experience in tackling the socioeconomic challenges that is bedeviling the country.
“This is a young man who all his life have been championing the interest of Nigerians where ever he is and we have strong confidence in him that he will not disappoint us,” he said.
According to Igwedibia, time has come for Nigerians to look inward and elect a youthful President just like most developed countries in the world.
“Go to France and you will discover that the President is a young man who came into the saddle at the age of below forty years and he is doing well. Since 2010, he has given over 500,000 Nigeria Educational Scholarships.
“In 2019, he single handedly floated a Business Financial Support Program that empowered over 6000 Nigerians with seed capital between N200,000 to N2,000,000.”
He said that the Edo state born presidential candidate has also Provided Electricity Installation and Transformers for Atan- Ogun State Kajola ibooro Community Ogun State, Supported Power Installation in Ekpoma Edo State, Dalemo Ogun State among others.
“He raised many millionaires in 2020 and gave out over 46 cars to different individuals to support their businesses. In 2021, he followed up with the release of over 120 of prisoners who were wrongly sentenced, after which he supported them financially for business and scholarship.
“He is Constantly engaging in the Free Feeding project for the IDPs and poor communities since 2015 He set up an annual innovation award of N10,000,000 to support innovation and talent in Nigeria. He has just launched a Scholarship Scheme for all Nigerian Undergraduates who currently at home due to ASUU Strike, They can now study 100% On Scholarship with International Universities” he said .
