Access Bank has reiterated its drive to improve the savings culture in the country, describing it as a pathway to wealth generation.
The bank’s Senior Retail Advisor, Robert Giles, stated this during the presentation of an SUV to one of its customers, Onyemachi Uchenna, who emerged as the winner of the maiden car reward on the Diamond Xtra account promo.
He added that Diamond Xtra accounted for 5.3 million customers out of the 60 million customer base in the bank, expressing the commitment to reward more customers in the subsequent raffle draw.
He further said, “This year, we were able to change the reward program to reward three winners with the brand new SUV and this is the first SUV in the Diamond Xtra programme that we are giving out this year.

“The bank is doing this because we believe it is important to create a culture of savings, we all know that if we save we can start to resolve shocks that are not anticipated. Better still to help us to different generations.
“We are trying to encourage the transfer of wealth generation through saving. We are making saving interesting with life-changing prizes that will allow customers every month to enter into a prize draw for every N5,000 that they have; they get one entry cash prize.”
The bank’s Group Head, Consumer Banking, Njideka Esomeju, stressed that the raffle draw determined the winner was monitored by the National Lottery Commission, saying the promo established 16 years ago had impacted lives.
She added that the bank began the reward of car prizes to the customers this year based on the results of a survey conducted, saying that two more cars to be won in the next quarter.
The winner, Onyemachi Uchenna, a businessman based in Owerri, Imo State, expressed surprise for the reward.
