Access Bank, others share top honours at 2023 Charity Shield Polo

 

The prestigious 2023 Access Bank UNICEF Charity Shield polo tournament came to a fitting climax at the Fifth Chukker & Country Polo resort in Kaduna with Access Bank (1&2) teams, Abuja YBL and Kano Rumbu polo teams carting home all the four titles on offer.

In an impressive run of skill and horsemanship Team Access Bank 1 & 2 defeated all comers to clinch the event’s biggest titles, Charity Shield and the Access Bank Cup respectively.

Abuja based YBL team hanged on a late strike by their patron Colonel Bello to claim the glittering Usman Dantata Cup while debutants Kano Rumbu emerged as champions of the UNICEF Cup on first attempt.

The tournament which galloped off with the vibrant celebration of Children’s Day, was highlighted by the unveiling of the new school uniforms and the donation of N10 million by Access Bank to UNICEF in aid of its intervention project in Kaduna State.

2023 UNICEF Charity Shield polo tourney climaxed in exciting triumphs for Access Bank teams, Abuja and Kano Rumbu polo teams as they emerged champions, winning the Charity Shield, Access Bank Cup, UNICEF Cup and Usman Dantata Cup respectively.

Kaduna State Deputy Governor, Hadiza Sabuwa Balarabe who unveiled the newly designed uniforms and shoes for the pupils of the Access Bank Fifth Chukker Maraban Jos Primary School in Kaduna, urged parents to make good use of the ultra modern educational facility targeted at removing millions of out of school children from the streets to a brighter future.

The 2023 edition of the UNICEF Charity Shield polo tournament will be remembered for its thrilling matches, outstanding performances, and the charitable spirit that resonated throughout.
