ACCA to sanction erring accountants

Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA), says it  will sanction members found to be culpable of any financial malpractices and other unethical behaviors.
ACCA’s Global Chief Executive, Mrs. Helen Brand, (OBE) gave the hint in Lagos at a press briefing  to mark the association’s 10th year anniversary in Nigeria.
She stated that as part of disciplinary measures, ACCA will slam heavy fine on any erring member who indulges in financial misappropriation and manipulations.
According to her, ACCA as a reputable global body of finance and accounting professionals cannot tolerate unethical attitudes among its members.
She said the proposed sanction is a kind of  deterrence  strategy to caution ACCA certified members to ensure that all hands are on deck to live above board.
