The Newspapers Vendors Association, Abuja (NVAA) and the Abuja Newspapers Distributors Association (ANDA) will today honour some deserving organizations and individuals as part of activities for the annual Vendors Week in Abuja.
The president of ANDA, Benji Obute, told newsmen listed awardees as Daily Trust, Blueprint and Leadership newspapers as well as the speaker of the House of Representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila; the Minister of Labour and Employment, Chris Ngige; Senator Philip Aduda, Mohammed Lado, among others.

He said the event would also be used to remember the vendor killed by a security operative at the Federal Secretariat in 2020.
NVAA chairman, Idris Adamu, noted that the annual event celebrates vendors toiling on a daily basis to sell newspapers to the reading public.
Idris said vendors contributed greatly to the economic development of the country as newspaper houses would not be operating “if there is no one to sell the papers to the public.”
