Stakeholders, including children, will converge on Abuja for this year’s World Milk Day celebration.
The day will feature lectures, discussions, exhibitions and children’s programmes, including a tour of dairy exhibition stands for the children, all addressing this year’s theme: “Sustainable Dairy: Good for Planet, Good for You”.
The events will take place at the Abuja Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ACCI) Complex from May 31 to June 1.
This year, the Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development will be jointly celebrating the event with the Commercial Dairy Ranchers Association of Nigeria (CODARAN), ACCI, SAHEL Consulting, Nutrition Nigeria Ltd, among others.

Speaking at a pre-event press briefing, the Minister of Agriculture, Dr Mohammad Mahmood Abubakar, said this year’s theme “speaks directly to the need for deliberate efforts to make milk production, collection and processing climate-smart.”
The President of ACCI, Dr Al-Mujtaba Abubakar, said that the celebration would be attended by over 20 selected public and private schools, noting that the second day would be the conference for stakeholders in the dairy industry, while the exhibition would run throughout the event at the Abuja Trade and Convention Centre of ACCI.
