Abuja SWAN chair promises to promote girl child education

The newly sworn-in Chairperson of the Society of Women Accountants of Nigeria (SWAN), Abuja chapter, Mrs Monica Nosike, has promised to promote girl child education during her tenure.

Nosike, who stated this during her investiture on Friday, said the “Adopt A Girl Child” initiative would centre on putting smiles on the faces of indigent but intelligent girls in public primary and secondary schools in order to assist them acquire quality education.

Nosike said SWAN Abuja would also help to build the capacity of members through training and seminars.

She explained that, “During our tenure, we will offer great new benefits to members, accountants and affiliates with the key aim of acquiring new tools to accelerate, change and gain more confidence as professional chartered accountants and continue to occupy our space locally and globally. Our organisation through leveraging on technology and Artificial Intelligence landscape will organise seminars for professionals along these lines of thought.”

The National President of SWAN, Mrs Nwamara Catherine Nnaji, who swore in Mrs Nosike, noted that in the 45 years existence of SWAN, the association had empowered thousands of female accountants and hundreds of young women in increasing their financial literacy skills.

The National President of ICAN, who was represented by the Second Deputy Vice President, Hajiya Queensly A. Seghosime, said the new Abuja SWAN leadership should be mindful of the profession’s watchwords: transparency, integrity and accountability.
