The House of Representatives Member for Abuja South in the FCT, Alhaji Abdulrahman Ajiya, has offered cash grants to 203 market women in his constituency.
Ajiya, while presenting N30,000 each to the beneficiaries in his Abaji Area Council home town on Saturday, said the aim was to assist them in their various trades.
While noting that the gesture was part of his 2023 electioneering campaign promises, he said the women were selected from across Abuja South which comprised Abaji, Kwali, Gwagwalada and Kuje area councils.
Ajiya appreciated the women for their patience and prayers that saw him winning at both the tribunal and appeal court as a result of petitions against him by his opponents.

He further said, “I believe we can all recall how my opponents, PDP and Labour Party both filed petitions against my victory at the poll as the duly elected Member of the House of Representatives for Abuja South. But today, we give glory to God that we were able to emerge victorious.”
He appealed to those that did not benefit from the first phase of the grants to be patient, assuring that they would benefit during the second phase in no distant time.
