Abuja: Police nab 12 more suspects over looting in Abuja

The FCT Police Command has arrested 12 more suspects over looting in Gosa-Lugbe axis of Abuja.

A statement by the command’s spokesperson, ASP Maryam Yusuf, said the suspects, who took advantage of the current situation, were arrested during a joint patrol at an estate in Gosa, while attempting to escape with looted items.

She gave the names of the suspects as Abubakar Hassan, Jibirin Musa, Mohammed Mohammed, Abdul Ibrahim, Shamsudeen Idris, Yusuf Mustapha, Mohammed Yusuf, Shaibu Usman, Abubakar Salisu, Haruna Bello, Sadiq Musa and Abu Lawal.

She said the suspects would be arraigned in court upon conclusion of investigation, even as she enjoined residents to remain law-abiding.

She said the command wished to reiterate its unwavering commitment to the protection of lives and property across the FCT.
