The Nigeria Railway Corporation (NRC) has given an assurance that the proposed electronic ticketing solutions for the Abuja-Kaduna standard gauge and other rail services across the country would be ready before the end of the year.
Managing Director of the corporation, Engr. Fidet Okhiria, gave the assurance in a chat with Daily Trust against the backdrop of the alleged ticket racketeering on the Abuja-Kaduna train.

Okhiria warned that the NRC would not tolerate ticket hoarding, saying it has put mechanisms in place to guard against such.
Daily Trust reports that there have been several complaints over alleged racketeering of tickets on the train service.
Many passengers had complained of arriving at the train station two hours before take-off without finding a ticket to buy while they had to purchase from ‘black market’.
