Some Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) from 14 registered camps in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) have received donations of motorcycle and cash from Senator Mohammed Ali Ndume, (APC) Borno South Senatorial District.

Five motorcycles were donated to camps with high populations while camps with fewer populations got three motorcycles each while the cash gift of one million naira was shared between men and women in all the camps.

City News learnt that the beneficiaries were mostly from Gwoza, Borno State.

Ndume said rehabilitation works were on-going back home to ensure they returned to a more secured and comfortable place.

He urged them not to condone any act of criminality among them but report anyone involved in criminality within the camps.

Earlier in his welcome address, the councillor representing City Centre Ward in Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC), Dogara John Bassa, said the intervention would go a long way in lessening the burden of the displaced persons.

He said to ensure a fair distribution of the business support incentives, a bailout system will be used to select the lucky beneficiaries of the items.
