Polo Royals can authoritatively disclose that the grand event which is billed to gallop-off from December 10, 2022 at the serene Guards Polo Club, has continually drawn the biggest crowd to the nations’ capital city.

Captain Muktar Adhama has advised visiting teams to arrive in good time to give their ponies enough rest ahead of the carnival firestorm just as he listed major prizes to be won in the weeklong festival including the event’s biggest prize, the President Cup.

Others are the highly revered Guards Challenge Trophy, the evergreen Legislative  Cup and the glittering Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Ministers Cup as well as a handful of subsidiary prizes and individual awards to be carted home by deserving winners.

“We are also using this carnival polo tournament to let more polo enthusiasts and the business community  know that the Nigerian capital city has a facility like the Guard Polo Club that can comfortably host an international polo tournament of any magnitude,” Muktar  pointed out.

Polo Royals recalled that the2021  edition of the prestigious carnival Polo lived up to its cutting edge competition and excitement, as host Abuja teams produced top winners with Abuja Lintex,  Abuja Asi and Abuja Dokaji  teams emerging winners.

It will be recalled that the Haske & Williams team from Yola pulled off a spectacular campaign last year, winning the crowded FCT Minister’s Cup, the only prize that escaped the dominating clutches of the rampant host teams that contested for all the prizes at stake.

Carnival Polo Tournament and the prestigious Unity Polo Festival, remain the two biggest sporting events that traditionally turn the serene Guards Polo Ground into the battlefield of high-end polo, with diplomats, international VIPs and celebrities from far and wide basking in excitement.
