Abubakar donates N19 million to market fire victims

Governor Mohammed Abdullahi Abubakar of Bauchi State has donated over N19 million to traders affected by fire at the Muda Lawal market located in the state capital.‎

The Chairman, Traders and Artisans Association of the market, Alhaji Bala Mai Kaji, said after handing over the donation to the beneficiaries that traders lost properties worth over N50 million in the inferno which he said occurred two times in the last two years and affected 24 traders.

He commended Governor Mohammed Abdullahi Abubakar for sympathising with the victims.

Speaking, one of the beneficiaries, Mr Chizoba Umendu said he lost properties worth over N5 million and received N3 million to resuscitate his business. Another beneficiary, Alhaji Shagari Usman said he lost over N10 million and was given N4 million. The two thanked the governor for the assistance.
