The Inter-Party Advisory Council (IPAC) in Ogun State is enmeshed in a crisis following the reported endorsement of Governor Dapo Abiodun’s re-election bid.
Some members of IPAC had reportedly endorsed Abiodun last Tuesday.
Speaking at a meeting with the governor held at his Iperu country home, the state’s Chairman of IPAC and Peoples Redemption Party (PRP), Samson Okusanya, said the governor had brought peace and development to the state.
He said, “We are here to congratulate him on his exemplary leadership, and most especially, for the peaceful conduct of the presidential and National Assembly elections.

“The elections in Ogun were free and fair and acceptable to all of us. We, the registered political parties, are in support of the governor. We are happy as a body to come and assure you that your second term is inevitable. We shall support you in the gubernatorial election.”
But less than 48 hours after the meeting, some leaders of IPAC dismissed the endorsement. The state’s Chairman of the Action Alliance (AA), Abayomi Sanyaolu, described it as the antics of some self-serving members of IPAC.
