Abiodun nominates new commissioners

Governor Dapo Abiodun of Ogun State has nominated five persons for appointment as commissioners and sent their names to the House of Assembly.

The nominees are Taiwo Oludotun, Hamzat Ganiyu, Adijat Adeleye-Oladapo, Ola Oresanya and Abayomi Hunye.

The governor’s confirmation request was contained in a letter dated June 30, 2022, and read at Thursday’s plenary by the Speaker, Olakunle Oluomo.

The speaker thereafter referred the governor’s request to the relevant committee for further legislative action.

Daily Trust reports that some of the nominees had resigned from the State Executive Council (SEC) to participate in the All Progressives Congress (APC) primaries in the state.

Abiodun had promised to compensate aspirants who lost out during the primaries.
