Abia State Governor Okezie Ikpeazu has said the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) remains strong, viable and united in the state.
A statement yesterday by his spokesman, Onyebuchi Ememanka, quoted him as saying this in his office while receiving a delegation of the PDP’s National Working Committee on a condolence visit to the state over the death of the party’s gubernatorial candidate, Eleazar Uche Ikonne.
The governor, according to the statement, described Ikonne’s death as a huge setback for members of the party.
He thanked the national leadership of the party for their support and solidarity with the state chapter.

On the delegation were the PDP National Secretary, Sam Anyanwu and the National Legal Adviser, Kamaldeen Ajibade.
