Operatives of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) in Abia State have arrested six suspects for their alleged involvement in illegal dealing in petroleum products.
Parading the suspects before newsmen at the command’s headquarters in Umuahia, the state’s Commandant, Mr Paul Igwebuike, said, “The six suspects were arrested at Gas Line by Iheoma, Uratta, Aba, following a tip off from our informants.”

He noted that the activities of the suspects, Tochukwu Onwuzurigbo (48); Ezechi Emeka (41); Maduakolam Uzoije (25); David Lazarus (24); Chukwuebuka Onwuzurigbo (18); and Abuchi Eze (35), and their partners in crime constituted economic sabotage against the nation and must not be allowed to foster.
Meanwhile, the suspects upon interrogation, confessed to the crime and pleaded for pardon.
Items recovered from the suspects include a truck with the registration number, SSM 839 XA and 42 drums of crude oil.
