Abia North: Group appeals for restraint

In a communiqué issued at the end of its meeting, yesterday, the group said that elections in the area have produced winner who should be allowed to serve the people of Abia North, advising the aggrieved parties to wait for the outcome of their cases at the tribunal.
The group, led by Comrade Chidiebere Uwagwu Kalu, called on the election winners, including Senator Mao Ohuabunwa, members of the House of Representatives and House of Assembly to work for the zone, irrespective of their party affiliation.
The forum urged candidates who did not win election to patiently await the verdict of the elections petition tribunal in the interest of the zone.
In the five-point communiqué, the group noted that the election held in Abia North on March 28, 2015, were free, fair and credible devoid of violence and produced a winner in the person of Mao Ohuabunwa.
“The forum has assessed Hon Chief Mao Ohuabunwa to be reliable, credible, tested and  trusted to bring dividends of democracy to Abia North,” it added.
