Abdullahi Sule wins APC guber ticket in Nasarawa

The Group Managing Director of Dangote Sugar Company, Engr. Abdullahi Sule, has emerged as the governorship candidate of All Progressives Congress (APC) in Nasarawa state.

The Chairman of the APC governorship primary election in Nasarawa state, Abdullahi Adamu Kandido, announced that Abdullahi Sule scored 926 votes to defeat his closest rival Hon. Ahmed Wadada Aliyu, who scored 519 votes. The incumbent deputy governor, Silas Ali Agara, who come third, got 356 votes.

Kandido, who declared Sule the winner of election having scored the highest number of vote casted was returned elected, declared him as the APC candidate for governorship election in the state.

According to him, out of the 2,342 delegates, 2,337 were accredited. Also, 2,297 valid votes and 19 invalid votes were recorded.

Sule, the anointed aspirant of the incumbent governor Tanko Al-Makura defeated the coalition of the APC governorship aspirants when they failed to reached a consensus candidate before the commencement of the election on Friday evening.

In his acceptance speech, the APC governorship candidate in the state, Abdullahi Sule, thanked the leadership of party and Governor Tanko Al-Makura for the peaceful way in which the election was conducted.

Sule also commended the state deputy governor, Silas Ali Agara, and other aspirants for their maturity throughout the process of the primaries.
