Abductors of Niger Catholic priest, 44 others yet to make demand

The abductors of the Catholic priest in charge of St Mary’s Catholic Church, Sarkin Pawa, Rev Fr Leo Raphael Ozigi, and 44 other villagers on March 27, are yet to make any demand.

However, Daily Trust gathered that the abductors have made calls to the Niger State chapter of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), asking for nomination of two members of the community to negotiate on behalf of all the abductees.

The secretary of CAN in the state, Pastor Raphael Opawoye, told our correspondent that, “The abductors said the negotiation would be a collective one; with just two contact persons from the community. So we are still expecting to hear from them. They have not made any demand yet.
