Bandits who abducted a councillorship aspirant, Japheth Zarma Yakubu, in Kurmin-Kare community in Kachia LGA of Kaduna State, have demanded a N20m ransom and two motorcycles.
A community leader who disclosed this to our reporter on Tuesday, said the bandits’ leader called on Sunday 11:45am through the victim’s phone and asked the family to raise N20m and two motorcycles for them.
He said one of the victim’s relatives was negotiating the ransom with the bandits.
He further said, “Just this morning, the relative of the victim came to my place to inform me on how he had been able to talk to the bandits’ leader.”

The spokesman of the Kaduna State Police Command, ASP Hassan Mansur, could not be reached for comment on the incident.
Recall that City & Crime reported that bandits, last Thursday, abducted the victim when he went to inspect his farm.
