Abductors of the wife and four daughters of Sarkin Hausawa of Anguwar Azara in Jere town in Kaduna State on the Abuja-Kaduna highway, Malam Ibrahim Tanko, have slashed the N15 million ransom they earlier demanded to N5 million two months after their abduction.

City & Crime had reported that two wives of the community leader, Maimuna Ibrahim and Hawawu Ibrahim, and his four daughters were abducted by bandits who raided his residence on February 11, 2022.

Speaking through telephone with our reporter on Wednesday, Malam Tanko said he was in a state of devastation.

Malam Tanko said he got N2m after selling his car and valuables but that the bandits’ leader insisted that he must pay N5m from the N15m they initially demanded.

He further said two residents of the community who were abducted alongside his family members were set free after payment of N1.5m.

The spokesman of the Kaduna state police command, ASP Mohammed Jalige, was yet to pick calls or reply to an SMS sent to him about the situation.
