The abductors of a former councillor that represented Tungan-Maje Ward in Gwagwalada Area Council of the FCT, Usman Tanko, have demanded a N15 million ransom.
City & Crime had reported that kidnappers on Tuesday invaded Shanagu village in the council and whisked away the victim on a motorcycle.
A family member of the victim, who preferred anonymity, told our reporter through telephone on Wednesday that contact was established on Tuesday at about 5pm when the leader of the kidnappers called and demanded the ransom.
He said the family of the victim were still pleading with the kidnappers to bring down the ransom to a level they could afford.
