Abductors of couple, baby demand N20m ransom

The abductors of a man, who was abducted with his wife and their 5 month-old baby last Friday in Abaji town of the FCT, have demanded N20 million as ransom before the man would be set free.

City & Crime had reported that a man, Hezekiah Francis, his wife, Mrs Josephine Hezekiah and their 5-month-old Hanniel Hezekiah were abducted by kidnappers at Abattoir new extension in Abaji metropolis of Abuja, Friday night.

The woman and the child were, however, set free by their abductors after they discovered that she was nursing a baby.

A family member of the victim, who preferred anonymity, told our reporter on phone yesterday that the kidnappers “later called on Saturday morning demanding for N20 million ransom but negotiations are still ongoing.”

He said the family had evacuated from the house and relocated to a neighbour’s house for fear of further attack.

The spokesperson of the FCT police command, DSP Adeh Josephine, did not reply to a text message sent to her on the ransom demanded by the kidnappers.

Josephine had earlier said she was not aware of the kidnap incident.
