The abductors of a couple at the private residence of the late Emir of Jere, in Kagarko LGA of Kaduna State, have demanded N30 million ransom.
City & Crime had reported that the bandits, in their large numbers, raided the private residence of the late emir, Dr Sa’ad Usman, and abducted the couple and five other neighbours in the area on Sunday.
A relative of one of the abducted victims, Ya’u Suleiman, who made the disclosure to our reporter over the phone on Thursday, said the leader of the bandits called through the phone of one of the people in their captivity and made the demand.
He said the bandits’ leader placed a ransom on each of the victims, amounting to N30 million, but said negotiations to bring down the sum was on.

“Actually, the leader of the bandits later called on Tuesday evening and demanded N30 million in ransom for the six people abducted, including the couple kidnapped at the residence of the late Jere emir,” he said.
The Jere emirate council secretary, Malam Aliyu Zubairu, confirmed the N30 million ransom demanded by the bandits through phone to our reporter.
There was no response from the Kaduna State Police Command about the ransom demand at the time of filing this report.
