Abductions: FG moves to secure schools nationwide

The Federal Government says it will fast track its highlighted plans to protect all educational institutions across the country as required by the Safe Schools Initiative Declaration of the United Nations.

The Minister of Defence, Bashir Magashi, said this in Abuja while hosting the Education in Emergencies Working Group.

He said in lieu of the recent attacks on some schools, the ministry was taking all measures to protect students and teachers.

His spokesman, Kabir Isa Bala, in a statement yesterday, said the minister, represented by the ministry’s permanent secretary, Musa Istifanus, lamented that about 13 million children were out of school.
