“We have cause to thank God today that our pastor’s wife, who was kidnapped recently from her residence around Ibaji Quarters in Lokoja has regained freedom.

“She has since rejoined her family unharmed. Efforts towards her release was intensified by all and sundry; and God confirmed their pleadings and she was released,” the pastor, who did not want his name mentioned, said.

The pastor’s wife was reportedly trailed to her residence few days ago from the town where she had gone for shopping and whisked her to an unknown destination at gunpoint. Thereafter, her abductors contacted her family, demanding N32 million as ransom.

Negotiation was said to have started immediately, which led to her release after ransom was paid.

The police public relations officer, Kogi State command, William Aya, did not respond to calls and text messages sent to him on the incident.
