Abducted Ogun nursing mum released after N3m ransom

Gunmen who kidnapped a nursing mother at Rounder area of Abeokuta, Ogun State, have released her after collecting N3 million.

The woman, Salmot Ajibola, was kidnapped while in a car with her husband in front of their house.

It was gathered that the husband fainted after the assailants hit him on the head before taking his wife hostage.

“Few hours after her abduction, the kidnappers called the family and demanded N25m for her release.

“As negotiations continued, they reduced the ransom to N15m. The family pleaded and they later settled for N3m. The N3m was taken to a location described by the kidnappers. After they got the money, Salmot was released on Saturday night,” a relation of the victim, who identified herself simply as Aina, told our correspondent.

The spokesperson of the police in the state, Abimbola Oyeyemi, confirmed the incident, but said the police was not aware of any ransom paid.
