One of Nigeria’s leading transport and logistics companies, ABC Transport, has suspended all its operations, as the federal government urged Nigerians to stay at home to curb the spread of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.
The decision, according to the company’s management, is to support the government’s action to stem the spread of the virus in the country.
“ABC Transport PLC wishes to announce the suspension of its services effective Friday, 27th March, 2020, for a period of 14 days.
“This measure has become imperative to protect our esteemed customers and staff from this scourge. We will continue to review the situation in line with the Federal Government policies,” a statement from the company read.
Daily Trust reports that many states across the country had also imposed travel restrictions on the citizenry, as they shutdown their boundaries to incoming and outgoing vehicles to curb the spread of COVID-19 which records 65 confirmed cases as at Thursday, March 26.
