The Amateur Bodybuilding and Fitness Federation (ABBFN) is set to launch the Shape Up Nigeria 30X30 fitness challenge aimed at helping Nigerians achieve the desired fitness levels.
Speaking at the media briefing yesterday in Abuja, President of the Amateur Bodybuilding and Fitness Federation, Soye Elekima said the fitness challenge aims to boost a healthy lifestyle among the residents of Nigeria
“The Nigeria Fitness Challenge (NFC) will be a month-long initiative designed to transform Nigeria into having some of the cities becoming more active in the world. With a calendar of exciting events, NFC is all about motivating and involving the residents of Nigeria to undertake 30 minutes of continuous exercise per day for 30 days,” he said.
He further said the NFC, which will commence on 1st October 2023 with the Independence Day Patriotic Workout Session to experience freedom and flexibility will include over 1,000 Fitness Classes while 250 sports halls will be built in fitness villages across Nigeria to allow the free flow of the exercise for those who associate themselves with the program.

He added that political leaders, celebrities, pastors, imams and heads of ministries have also been co-opted to pass the messages across to Nigeria.
The event is expected to be kicked off by Nigeria’s President, Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Bayelsa State governor, Senator Douye Diri.
The organiser, Nigeria Fitness Challenge (NFC) will also unveil Bayelsa State governor, Senator Douye Diri as the face of the body following his contribution to sponsor the Fitness Day Bill in Nigeria during the 9th National Assembly.
