Prince Eweka said Alhaji Abdullahi Abbas emerged APC chairman having defeated Alhaji Muhammad Shehu with 2,982 votes.

He added that other winners included Alhaji Ibrahim Zakari Sarina as secretary, Alhaji Shehu Maigari vice chairman, Hajiya Habiba Yan Dalla women leader and Alhaji Sharu Ahmed Adam.

Eweka also announced Alhaji Ahmed Speaker as organising secretary, Alhaji Mukhtari Sule financial secretary, Alhaji Usman M. Salisu as auditor and Barrister Jamilu Hassan as legal adviser.

The elected executives were sworn in by the Kano state Attorney-General, Barrister Ibrahim Muktar shortly after the results were announced.

Speaking shortly after the exercise Governor Ganduje thanked God for a successful Congress in the  state.

Ganduje said that the party would continue to remain united in Kano and promised to deliver five million votes to President Buhari 2019 general elections.

In his acceptance speech, the newly elected Chairman, Alhaji Abdullahi Abass, thanked the governor for his commitment to the development of democracy.
