The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Benue State on Friday published the names of Senatorial and House of Representatives candidates for the 2019 general elections.

Our correspondent reports that the list as was pasted at INEC’s headquarters in Makurdi, indicated that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) fielded former Governor Gabriel Suswam for Benue North East, Ex-Minister of Interior, Comrade Abba Moro for Benue South and current serving HoR member, Barr. Orker Jev for Benue North West senatorial district respectively.

While the All Progressives Congress (APC) fielded a former deputy governor of the state, Chief Steven Lawani for Benue South, Senator George Akume for Benue North West and a female candidate, Mrs Mimi Adazpe Orubibi for Benue North East.

 

Other parties such as the Social Democratic Party (SDP) has a former federal permanent Secretary of Defence, Chief Mike Okibe Onoja for Benue South, Senator Barnabas Gemade for Benue North East.

The other senatorial candidates  includes; Senator Joseph Akaagerger (APGA for Benue North East), Alhajji Usman Abubakar popular known as young Alhaji (APDA) for Benue South among others.
