A war that must be won

The insecurity problem bedevilling Nigeria and especially the Northern part is enormous. There is almost a total breakdown of law and order with the security agencies doing next to nothing about it.

Protecting lives and properties of the citizens should be the number one priority of every government. So far the current administration, just like the previous one, has failed to do that.

President Muhammadu Buhari, during the 2015 campaigns promised to defeat Boko Haram and here we are in 2020, the insurgents parading the streets of Borno killing people in their numbers.

Enough of the condemnations because it won’t bring back the innocent fathers, mothers, sons and daughters being killed almost daily.

The government should prove to us that it is really committed to the fight against Boko Haram insurgents, bandits and kidnappers by sincerely renewing efforts to decimate these enemies of our nation.

The Nigerian Armed Forces has the capability of annihilating them but I think they lack the motivation to do that.

This war against Boko Haram terrorists, bandits and kidnappers is one that must be won, so the armed forces should re-strategise and come up with innovative and effective tactics to annihilate these enemies of our dear nation.

God bless Nigeria.
