A new Commissioner of Police (CP), Olatoye Durosinmi, has assumed duty in Akwa Ibom State as the 31st CP of the state, taking over from Andrew Amiengheme who has been promoted to an Assistant Inspector General (AIG).
The new CP was Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP), Operations, Imo State Police Command and had served as ACP, CID, Akwa Ibom Police Command.
In a press release made available to our correspondent on Thursday in Uyo, police spokesman in the state, SP Odiko Macdon, said the CP urged all peace-loving people in the state to remain law abiding and accord him the needed cooperation to fight crime and criminality.
