The menu will highlight typical Swedish products and dishes such as Swedish cheeses, cured salmon, and other seafood dishes.

The 10 days of food celebration will commence on Tuesday 20 February with a reception at Transcorp Hilton for invited friends and partners.

The reception will be hosted by H.E. Ambassador Inger Ultvedt and Transcorp Hilton General Manager Etienne Gailliez/Director of Business Development Ahmed AbdelGhafar, with words of welcome from the State Secretary for Development of Sweden Ms Ulrika Modéer.

This event is by invitation only.

Transcorp Hilton will incorporate the special Swedish menu into its offering to the public from 20 February to 3 March 2018, at their restaurant Zuma Grill.

Responsible for the specially planned menu is the Swedish Chef of the Year in 2015, Thomas Sjögren.

Sjögren is the youngest-ever winner of the competition Swedish Chef of the Year, he won in February 2015 at only 23 years old.

He is originally from the northern parts of Sweden, and hunting and fishing were a large part of his childhood.

His upbringing also contributed to the main philosophy behind his cooking: creating straight-forward food based on fantastic products.

Sweden is a culinary nation shaped by its countryside.

The summer – with long, light days and cool evenings – produces fruit that grows slowly and has rich flavors.

The coastline provides high-quality fish and shellfish.

And the vast forests are full of berries, mushrooms and game, which all have a special place in Swedish cuisine.

The combination of creative producers and chefs who use the countryside and produce to create innovative and forward looking cuisine and exclusive culinary experiences is at the core of what Sweden as a culinary nation can offer.
