A magistrate court sitting in Ado-Ekiti has ordered the remand of a 48-year-old woman, Bosede Soneye, over attempted murder of a 40-year- old woman.
Police Prosecutor, Sgt. Sodiq Adeniyi, told the court yesterday that the accused attempted murdering Ojo Bosede by pouring hot water on her.
Adeniyi said the motion ex-parte to remand the suspect was brought pursuant to Section 264 (1) and (2) of Administration of Criminal Justice Law of Ekiti State 2014 order 6 Rule 4 of ACJL Rules 2020 and under the inherent jurisdiction of the court.
The prosecutor said the offence is punishable under Section 320 of the Criminal Code, Laws of Ekiti State, 2012, within Iyin-Ekiti in October 2, 2021.
He told the court that he would duplicate the case file to the Director of Public Prosecution, DPP, for legal advice.
The Magistrate, Mrs Mojisola Salau, ordered the remand of the defendant in the Correctional Centre in Ado-Ekiti till November 8, 2021.
