‘PDP nullifies suspension of Kebbi chair, woman leader, others’

The national headquarters of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has nullified the purported suspension of the Kebbi State chairman, Haruna D. Musa, the national woman leader, Maria Waziri and two other national officers of the party.

The two others are a former Minister of Special Duties, Kabiru Tanimu and a former governorship candidate, Major-General Bello S. Yaki.

Announcing their suspension on September 27, the state vice chairman of the party, Garba Abubakar Basse, had accused them of arbitrariness and sabotage.

But the party announced the nullification of the suspension in a letter signed by its national secretary, Senator Ibrahim Umari Tsauri, a copy of which was made available to Daily Trust.

The party stated that the suspension was not only unlawful but unconstitutional, adding that if left unchecked, it could result in the breach of peace in the state.

The letter added, “The national headquarters of our party is taking steps to invoke appropriate sanctions and punitive measures against these elements who are bent on breaching the constitution of our great party. For the avoidance of doubt, we wish to re-state that Mallam Haruna D. Sa’idu remains the lawful and authentic chairman of the PDP in Kebbi State.”
