Do not fuel religious crisis in S’West, group warns leaders

Thr Traditional Religion Worshippers Association of Nigeria, on Tuesday warned leaders of other faiths not to create crisis in the south western states over their reaction to traditional worshippers demand for public holidays from government. 

The group explained that it demanded for public holidays to celebrate important annual festivals with their members and members of other religions. 

The group specifically warned that the utterances of Chief Missioner of Nasrul-Lahi-l-Fathih Society of Nigeria (NASFAT), Imam Abdul-Azeez Onike could create religious crisis in the region. 

The traditionalists were reacting to a statement credited to Onike where he said granting public holidays to traditional worshippers is an invitation to chaos in the country. 

Speaking with reporters in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital, the chairman of the association, Adefabi Dasola (a surveyor) flanked by the Secretary, Dr. Fakayode  Fatunde warned the missioner to be wary of utterances that could lead to disunity.
