You can trust God

Trust is essential in any relationship. In fact, it is the ingredient that makes one feel safe in a relationship. Without trust, we lose our friends and loved ones. It is important we trust one another to be able to survive even as a nation. The benefits are enormous.

It is even more important that we trust God. Only those who trust him can enjoy their relationship with him. You must believe in him if you want to be blessed by him and have your life transformed.

Let me share with you eight of the reasons we can trust God.

SPONSOR AD

1. He is your Father who loves you. My son trusts me because he knows I love him. He will readily jump into my arms from a height because I will not allow him to fall and hurt himself. There is a covenant relationship and God is committed to it. He is responsible for your upkeep and well-being as long as you surrender to Him. This relationship is founded on unconditional love: agape love that never fails.

2. He promised. Hebrews 10:23, “Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; (for he is faithful that promised…)” The Bible describes these promises as ‘exceeding great and precious’ (2Peter 1:3-4). Read the Bible and see just how many promises have been made to us by God. God made us promises. That’s heavy weight! This is God we are talking about; not some helpless individual somewhere; not some created being; GOD ALMIGHTY! The great God Jehovah, the great I AM THAT I AM. We are talking of the Elohim, the Creator and Possessor of heaven and earth. If a president makes you a promise, you are very likely to throw a party before he fulfils it. But this is the CEO of the universe we are talking about. He swore to bless you. Hebrews 6:13-14 says, “For when God made promise to Abraham, because he could swear by no greater, he sware by himself, [14]Saying, Surely blessing I will bless thee, and multiplying I will multiply thee.” Galatians 3:29, “And if ye be Christ’s, then are ye Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise.”

3. He is faithful. Hebrews 10:23, “He is faithful who has promised.” The One that has promised is faithful. You cannot rely on the promises of an unfaithful person. God sticks to what He says. Until you know why you trust God you cannot trust Him. Before faithfulness can be talked about, it must be based on the Word. Confidence in an unfaithful man leads to failure and defeat. God is faithful, very faithful! He keeps His promises: to His friends and enemies alike. Heaven and earth will pass away but not a jot of His word will pass away. Faithfulness is a quality that sets God apart from all other beings and gods and certainly from the devil. He is not a man to lie. He is absolutely trustworthy and reliable. He has never promised and failed. His word, like Him, is eternal. God cannot lie. We are told in the book of Numbers that God is not a man to lie nor is He the son of man to repent. Numbers 23:19, “God is not a man, that he should lie; neither the son of man, that he should repent: hath he said, and shall he not do it?” The fulfilment of God’s promise is sacred to Him. It is a serious matter for Him. It touches His integrity and character. He is not a man. Men fail because of unforeseen circumstances: there is nothing like that with God. Men die; God does not. Men have limited knowledge; God knows everything. Men grow weak with time; God remains the same for ever and does not grow weary.

4. He is able. The Bible tells us in five places in the New Testament that God is able. 2Corinthians 9:8 says, “And God is able to make all grace abound toward you; that ye, always having all sufficiency in all things, may abound to every good work:” One can be faithful but without ability. Such a person cannot deliver. But it is not so with God. God is both faithful and able. If you have a friend that is willing to help you in time of need but is unable, will you trust him the next time you are in need? No! God is able! Anyone that has the power to create the universe in just six days and sustain it for millions of years is certainly able. He is the OMNIPOTENT God. All powers belong to Him. Just look at the oceans and the seas and you will see that He is able. See how He waters the earth through rainfall and you will see that He is able. The world has never run out of the supply of Oxygen; God is able; very able!!

5. He is willing. Matthew 8:2-3, “And, behold, there came a leper and worshipped him, saying, Lord, if thou wilt, thou canst make me clean. [3]And Jesus put forth his hand, and touched him, saying, I will; be thou clean. And immediately his leprosy was cleansed.” I have come across people who have the ability to help with certain situations who are not willing and so the problem does not get solved. God is ever willing to help those who come to Him for help. He is more willing to help you and get you out of trouble than you can ever desire. Helping His children pleases Him.

6. He is wise. He knows all things. He is omniscient. A man can fail to fulfil his promise because of unforeseen circumstances. With God, there is absolutely no such thing. He possesses all knowledge past, present and future.

7. He is kind. It is very difficult if not foolish, to trust a wicked person. Kindness is God’s very nature. God is kind, very kind! Kindness is God and God is kindness. Nehemiah 9:17, “…but thou art a God ready to pardon, gracious and merciful, slow to anger, and of great kindness, and forsookest them not.” Psalm 117:1-2, “O praise the LORD, all ye nations: praise him, all ye people. [2]For his merciful kindness is great toward us: and the truth of the LORD endureth for ever. Praise ye the LORD.” Jonah 4:2, “…for I knew that thou art a gracious God, and merciful, slow to anger, and of great kindness…”

8. He is merciful. Exodus 34:6, “And the LORD passed by before him, and proclaimed, The LORD, The LORD God, merciful and gracious, longsuffering, and abundant in goodness and truth, [7]Keeping mercy for thousands, forgiving iniquity and transgression and sin, and that will by no means clear the guilty; visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children, and upon the children’s children, unto the third and to the fourth generation.” He gives without finding fault. He is very merciful; He will not judge you if you simply confess your sins.

You can have a miracle today by claiming the promises He has made to you. Do what He says and you will be celebrating soon. I have seen God do unimaginable things in my life and ministry. Believe me, faith works; prayer works and the promises of God are true! Everything else may fail but not the promises of God!
