The Lagos State chapter of the Islamic Education Trust Fund (IET) has pushed for the planting of over 1000 trees before the end of 2021.
The group which has planted over 300 trees across Lagos, said the move is to restore the ecosystem and achieve an environment that would be suitable for all.
The Chairman of IET, Lagos State branch, Dr. Jubril Oyekan, said the greenery initiative would complement the effort of the Lagos State Parks and Gardens Agency (LASPARK).

A former Deputy Governor of the State, Alhaja Lateefat Okunu, encouraged Lagosians to plant and protect the trees within their communities.
Agriculture Consultant from University of Ibadan, Professor M A Onilude, emphasised that tree planting is important to ensure the sustainability of the environment.
