She was sent to buy kuli-kuli
Suspected ritualists have killed a 16-year-old girl, Rihanat Yusuf, who was sent on errand by her parents in Kwara State.
The incident, which happened in Amuyo area in Offa Local Government Area, has thrown the community into shock.
Her dismembered body, with the head and two hands missing, was reportedly discovered at an uncompleted building in the area.
The deceased, it was gathered, left home Tuesday last week to get groundnut cake (kuli-kuli) with which to soak garri for lunch when she went missing.
After combing the community without finding her, the distraught father, Yusuf Taofeeq, reported the matter at the Offa Divisional Police Headquarters.
Confirming the incident, the Police Public Relations Officer, Kwara Command, Ajayi Okasanmi, said two suspects had been arrested and they have confessed to the crime.
“In the cause of investigation, one Femi Adeniji of the same area was arrested and he confessed to be in possession of the head and a hand of the deceased.
“He confessed that he sold one of the hands to his accomplice, who is presently at large, for N20,000.
“The other arrested suspect, Shittu Abdulmalik, also confessed to have used the second hand of the deceased for money-making soap,” the police spokesman said.
Okasanmi said investigation was ongoing.
